Our Impact
In 2021, we started The Family Academy to help families to break free from the shackles of trauma, addiction, poverty, sickness, and unhealthy relationships.
Fueled by our personal experiences with trauma, poverty, divorce, illness, and grief, we launched a crusade against the barriers that hindered families from accessing top-tier services.
We help families by providing tutoring, sports training, and connecting families to the resources and support systems they need. We also host the National Empowered & Resilient Families Conference to help families to live purposeful and resilient lives.
Tutoring that Works!
Our Guided Learning Program helps student catch up academically through personalized high-dosage tutoring. We combine innovative and evidence-based approaches to ensure maximum effectiveness.
Tutoring is delivered through 1-3 hour sessions conducted 3-4 times per week. Our flexible scheduling model fits the needs of homeschooling families, online learners, and students attending traditional schools.
To enhance student success, our Bridge to Achievement Program provides parents with expert literacy and math coaching and practical tips to continue learning at home.
Our approach gets results: on average, students make about one month of academic progress for every two weeks they participate in our program.
Building character on and off the court.
Our TFA Sports Academy Program is designed to help students grow both on and off the court. Through structured basketball training participants develop fundamental basketball skills while building the personal qualities needed for success in school, sports, and life.

Our National Empower & Resilient Families Conference is designed to bring together families, community leaders, educators, and professionals for impactful discussions and learning experiences centered on family well-being and resilience.
Through engaging workshops, keynote presentations, and panel discussions, attendees identify strategies for overcoming adversity, breaking cycles of trauma and poverty, strengthening family relationships, promoting healthy lifestyles, and creating stable, thriving home environments. The conference features delicious meals, a live comedy show, and resource fair.
