About Us
When we started the Family Academy, we didn't just initiate a program; we launched a crusade against the barriers that hindered families from accessing top-tier services.
After years in the military, education system, and ministry, we discovered that many of the people surrounding us were not living on purpose, for a purpose. Given our personal experiences with trauma, poverty, divorce, illness, and grief, we could not stand by idly and watch our community suffer, so we took action!
After many years in ministry, we realized that there was still a population of people that traditional ministries didn't serve. So my husband and I launched a ministry called "Unchurched" to make it a priority to show compassion to those who often feel overlooked—veterans, those incarcerated, and individuals experiencing homelessness.
To increase our impact, we started The Family Academy in 2021 to help families to break free from the shackles of trauma, addiction, poverty, sickness, and unhealthy relationships.
Our most recent experience of losing our son, at just two days old, has given us an even deeper passion for helping others. However, we understand that our mission is big: transforming our world one family at a time, so we have partnered with organizations across the U.S. to help us fulfill our mission. Together, we are not just building families; we are creating opportunities for lives to be transformed.
